Hurricane Ridge Ski and Snowboard Area

They call it Hurricane Ridge for a reason.
Call 360-565-3131 for updated road, lift and weather conditions daily.
The road is scheduled to be open Fri, Sat, Sun, as well as holidays all winter, and the lifts operate on the weekends and holiday Mondays as well as the week after Christmas. The National Park charges an entrance fee, and tire chains are required to be carried in all vehicles traveling up to the Ridge.

Wednesday opening day update: As of today there is about a 90 percent chance we will not be open this weekend. If it doesn't rain as bad as they say, and snows more then they say in the next couple of days, that could change things up. Right now we have about 1 to 3 feet of snow on the ground depending on where your standing and 19 inches at the snow stake. To run the frontside lifts and run the grooming equipment we need a uniform coverage of about 36 inches of snow. Cross your fingers for this weekend but plan on next weekend for opening day.

@nwacus You can get yourself into a fair bit of trouble venturing outside of our ski area. Shouldn't this be the season you learn about avalanche awareness? PS. How many people would be interested in taking a level 1 avalanche class in February at the Ridge?

Well, opening day is just a day we hope to open. Mother Nature calls the real opening day..... and she wasn't too kind to us this year. On the bright side it was dumping this afternoon, and is supposed to snow all week. We need 36 inches of snow to get the season going. Step up your snow dances now, please!

There is a promising system moving in over the weekend and with any luck we’ll be open soon, but for now we must push back our first day of ops. Stay tuned, and in the meantime enjoy this photo of @augdoggy floating through powder heaven. Photog: @kory_kirby

Unfortunately we don't have enough of this white stuff to get things going for our opening day this weekend. Barring a snowstorm miracle this week we will shoot for a opening day of Saturday Dec.15th. Weather starts to change this coming weekend and into next week so cross your fingers and hope for a big storm. We need about 36 inches of snow to begin operations. While we wait for opening day we will have a contest for a free all lift ticket. What will the snow depth be on opening day at the Hurricane Ridge snow sensor at 9:00AM?
