HOW EARLY SHOULD I SIGN UP FOR MY LESSON?
Plan on signing up at least 1 hour before your desired lesson start time, as we do not allow sign ups less than 30 minutes before the lesson start time. Really there is no time that is too early. Better off to be too early then too late and missed out on the fun
WHERE DO I GO TO SIGN UP FOR MY LESSON?
On weekends and holidays, lessons are booked out of the MOC, our mountain operations center located across the road from our learning center. For reservations during non operating hours please call 848 667 7669 or email firstname.lastname@example.org

Yes. Please make sue you get a lift ticket when you check in for your lesson. It is included in your lesson price.
DO I NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION FOR MY LESSON?
To guaranty your lesson, yes. Group and private lessons operate on a first-come first-served basis, and it is recommended that you sign up at least 1 hour prior to the lesson start times. If you want a guaranteed spot you can make reservations by calling 848 667 7669 or emailing email@example.com
Private lessons are very popular, so please reserve ahead of time so that you are not disappointed. Reservations canceled with 24 hours notice are eligible for a full refund. Reservations canceled with less than 24 hours notice are not eligible for any refund unless the ski area is closed.
HOW LONG DO LESSONS LAST?
Lessons vary in length from 1 to 1.5 hours depending on class size and lesson type. With private lessons you can make them as long as you want with each additional hour discounted
HOW BIG WILL MY GROUP LESSON BE?
We schedule all of our lessons to have a student to instructor ratio of a maximum 6 to 1 but strive for 4 or less to provide you with individual support while learning how to ski or snowboard.
WHAT IS BETTER FOR ME, A GROUP LESSON OR A PRIVATE LESSON?
It depends on your learning style and preference. Beginning skiers and riders usually do quite well in a group environment, but private lessons allow us to tailor your lesson to your individual learning style and preferred pace.
CAN I REQUEST A SPECIFIC INSTRUCTOR?
Yes, if you are taking a private lesson. Please allow 48 hours notice to schedule a private lesson with a specific instructor.
WHAT CAN I (OR MY CHILD) DO TO PREPARE FOR MY FIRST LESSON?
Make sure you are well rested, fed, hydrated and clothed. Also be sure to arrive AT LEAST an hour before your desired lesson start time.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY LESSON?
Ski and Snowboard Attire Hints
1. Dress in layers, putting your lightest layer on the bottom. The weather here changes quickly and dramatically, you’ll want to be prepared for anything and everything!
2. Polypropylene is the best fabric for inner layers – it absorbs wetness and won’t smell!
3. Fleece is a great layer!
4. Wear a hat -even when it’s sunny out!
5. A helmet is a great idea, especially for kids! It can save a life!
6. Goggles are a must, even when it’s sunny out.
7. Buy hand and feet warmers to put in your boots and gloves.
8. A neck gator is key on snowy, windy days – pull it over your neck and face.
9. Don’t ski in jeans or other cotton pants – if you don’t have a pair of ski pants, we highly recommend purchasing a pair.
10. Thick ski socks do not translate to warm feet. If your socks are too thick, you will cut off the circulation in your feet and they will sweat – making them colder in your boots. Wear a thin pair of socks and you’ll be much more comfortable.
DO YOU RENT CLOTHING, GOGGLES, OR GLOVES?
No, we do not. However, those items are available for purchase at the gift shop at the Hurricane Ridge visitors center or at many stores in Port Angeles
WHERE DO I PICK UP MY CHILD AFTER THE LESSON?
Please pick up your child at the lesson meeting location (where you dropped them off). Parents are responsible for picking up their children at the lesson meeting location on time.
WHERE CAN I RENT EQUIPMENT?
Ski equipment rentals are available on the mountain in the Hurricane Ridge visitors center downstairs and snowboard rentals are available at North By Northwest in Port Angeles 360 452 5144
HOW DO I PAY FOR THE LESSON OR RENTALS?
We accept cash, local checks, and most major credit cards
WHAT ARE THE ROAD AND PARKING CONDITIONS LIKE?
For current road conditions call 360 565 3131. Parking at Hurricane Ridge is limited and the lot can fill up on many days. If there is sunshine and new snow the lot can fill up as early as 10:00. Cars are then held at the bottom of the road until more parking becomes available. On those days it is HIGHLY recommended that you show up at the park entrance as much as TWO hours or more before your lesson, three hours if you have not pre-registered or made reservations. The Hurricane Ridge Learning Center can not be responsible if you show up late and are denied entrance to the Park in time to get to your lesson. Refunds are not allowed if you get there late so please plan ahead. If you get to the Park gate by 9:00 you are usually fine for a morning lesson
